Xanax and Productivity
After taking Xanax, I have noticed a significant increase in my productivity. I am able to clean, organize, make phone calls, and accomplish much more throughout the day. However, without the medication, it takes a lot of effort for me to do everyday chores. I suspect that this may be due to a chemical imbalance in my brain. I have only met one other person who experiences the same effect.
Do you know if Xanax has this effect on others? I am not fond of the short-term memory loss that comes with it. Are there any other medications, herbal remedies, or over-the-counter drugs that can provide the same effect without relying on Xanax?
Talking to My Therapist
I have discussed this issue with my therapist, who suggested that my anxiety might be overwhelming me without the medication, making it difficult to know where to start. However, I have tried Valium, which only relaxes me and does not give me the same desire to be productive.
My husband does not understand how Xanax can make me so organized. He believes that I should be able to function without it. This is a sensitive topic for us because it is a constant battle to get me to be productive when I am out of my medication.
Advice Needed
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. It is worth noting that I have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder and prescribed Wellbutrin. As I write this question, I had to take a Xanax and noticed my heart racing. Without the medication, I would not have considered coming to this site or asking my first question.
